Last week was one for the books—a beautiful blend of artistry, advocacy, education, and impact. From capturing soul-stirring musical performances to mentoring student filmmakers and building partnerships across our community, OnWatch TV and SCORE were on the move, living out our mission to uplift, empower, and inspire.
Sunday: Music, Legacy & Community at The Parade of Pianos
The week kicked off on a high note—literally—as OnWatch TV CEO Dr. Tayari Kuanda partnered with the nonprofit The Parade of Pianos to film their Annual Spring Concert in Apple Valley, CA.
The Parade of Pianos supports young musicians by providing instruments, mentorship, and scholarships to help them advance their musical talents. This year’s concert showcased a wide range of talent—from charming performances by young children to masterful playing by seasoned musicians.
A highlight of the evening was a guest performance by Tayari Kuanda III, one of the original students from the Parade of Pianos program. His emotionally powerful rendition of Richard Addinsell’s Warsaw Concerto followed by one of his original compositions, brought the audience to its feet in a raucous ovation.
Other standout performances included the Celebration Handbell Ringers from Church of The Valley, whose melodic tones set a peaceful tone, and a moving vocal performance by Victor Valley College student Kat Miner, whose voice soared with strength and grace.
Monday: Building Partnerships at a Local Networking Event
The momentum continued into Monday as Dr. Kuanda represented OnWatch TV and SCORE at a monthly community networking event attended by local business leaders, educators, nonprofit representatives, and public officials.
Dr. K shared SCORE’s mission and OnWatch TV’s services, securing several new commitments from attendees to provide professional development opportunities for local school districts and private companies.
He also encouraged participants to support struggling students by sponsoring or signing up for the upcoming June 7th Domino Tournament, where proceeds will go directly to SCORE’s scholarship fund.

Thursday: Student Interns Shine at the AHS Heritage Senior Awards
The week culminated on Thursday as Dr. Kuanda guided SCORE’s student interns through the filming of the AHS Heritage Senior Awards Celebration—a capstone event that honors African American students as they complete high school and prepare for college and careers.
Interns arrived hours before the ceremony to set up lighting, cameras, and audio gear, preparing to capture every special moment. Events like this are part of SCORE’s Rise of the Page program, launched in 2022 to offer high school and college students hands-on training in film and media production.
Over the past few years, this program has trained or employed dozens of youth in lighting, cinematography, audio engineering, editing, and more. It also opens doors to shadow industry professionals on real sets—giving students real-world exposure to professional media work.
Those who show exceptional promise or passion may even receive tuition-paid enrollment in the Film & TV Industry Essentials Certificate Program offered by Yellowbrick and NYU, featuring faculty from NYU, IndieWire, and Rolling Stone.
A Night to Reflect and Celebrate
The evening concluded with a gala-style dinner, where students and families shared in laughter, reflection, and pride. After the gear was packed away, Dr. Kuanda made sure the interns enjoyed a well-earned meal—a small token of appreciation for their dedication and growth.
At OnWatch TV and SCORE, we don’t just show up—we show out for our students, our communities, and our collective future. Whether filming live concerts, mentoring the next generation of creators, or building community partnerships, we remain committed to using media as a tool for purpose-driven change.
